Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026. This policy explains what SecretVN (operated by Jharah Global Experts Ltd, Abuja, Nigeria) collects and why. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

1. Information we collect

Account holders (receivers): your username, display name, email address, a hashed password, and anything you add to your profile (photo, bio, city, prompt).

Senders: the disguised audio file, the voice style chosen, an optional hint, and a random identifier stored in a cookie on your browser. On our servers this identifier is kept only as a one-way hash, used so receivers can block a sender and so we can stop spam.

What we don't collect: senders' names, phone numbers or emails; original (undisguised) recordings; or IP addresses. For rate-limiting we compute a hash of your IP address combined with a secret that changes daily; it cannot be reversed and is deleted within 48 hours.

2. How long we keep it

• Voice notes are deleted automatically 2 days (48 hours) after they arrive.
• Reported notes may be kept for up to 90 days while we investigate.
• Account data is kept until you delete your account, which you can do at any time in Settings.

3. How we use information

To deliver notes, run your inbox, prevent abuse, respond to reports and support requests, and improve the service. We never sell personal information.

4. Cookies and advertising

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in, protect forms from forgery, and remember your sender identifier and cookie choice.

SecretVN may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to SecretVN and/or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies at aboutads.info. Choosing “Essential only” in our cookie banner asks Google to show non-personalised ads. Learn more about how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

5. Sharing

We share information only with service providers who help us run SecretVN (hosting, email, advertising), or when required by Nigerian law. Because we don't hold senders' identities or original voices, we cannot disclose them.

6. Your rights

You can access, correct or delete your account information at any time from Settings, or by contacting us. You may also lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

7. Children

SecretVN is not for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
